“Çok Satan” (Bestseller) kitaplar okumayı fazla sevmem. Kitabı internetten alırken daha farklı bir yönü olabileceği inancı ile satın almıştım. Ancak “soap opera” türü bir kitapla karşılaştım. Silvia, bir süre önce boşanmış, iki çocuğuna ve eşine karşı yıllarca ilgisiz kalmış, başına buyruk yaşayan bir kadındır.  Bir kadın arkadaşıyla zaman geçirdiği evinde balkondan düşerek komaya girer ve hastaneye kaldırılır. Uykuda ve tepkisizdir. Ablası, boşandığı eşi, ilgilenmediği kızı, ev hizmetçisi, kadın arkadaşı ve bakıcı hemşire yanında zaman geçirip konuşarak onu yaşama döndürmeye çalışırlar. Onların anlatımından olay örgüsünün perde arkası yavaş yavaş aydınlanır. Yazar, İngiltere’de önde gelen film ve şov yıldızlarından imiş. Kitabın bence edebiyat değeri yok. Okumazsanız bir şey kaybetmezsiniz.

The Americans love the comedy to be high gag quota and slick. Fawlty Towers was an enormous favorite. I once laughed so hard with my dad at this series that I actually wet my pants and then my dad wet his. We were in genuine physical pain with laughing.
